(BMLTV)-18 year old Gary Whitehurst says he choose to make a long commute to an Automotive Institute for the opportunity to further his passion for cars. He felt mentally at a dead end. He yearned for a certification “under his hood”.Being a self-taught professional automotive mechanic, Gary wanted to learn more about Automotive Diagnostic Trouble Shooting(ADTS).
Gary is currently enrolled in the T-TEN (Toyota Technical Education Network) program.
The T-TEN program offers students the opportunity to train and work in a Toyota or Lexus dealership. This 2-year program combines theory, hands-on work, and live shop work in order to give the student the most up-to-date training available. Students train on the latest Toyota products and equipment. After graduating with an Associates in Applied Science degree in Automotive Technology, students continue to pursue their career as an automotive technician at the sponsoring dealership.
